Tell us about a business success you have had.

In every installation, we enjoy business success because we enable our Customers to save energy.   Our ozone systems:

  • Reduce water usage up to 35%
  • Reduce hot water costs and consumption for light to medium soiled linens 100%
  • Reduce drying times 30% – 60%
  • Reduce chemicals 20% – 50%, depending on products currently in use
  • Extend linen life up to 23% – per 3rd party tests results of NuTek’s OLSS
  • Reduce a business’ carbon footprint
  • Reduce operating costs and supports sustainability

We’re the only ozone systems for On Premises Laundries that have secured UL Recognition for all Models, confirming that our systems meet safety standards in both the US and Canada.

  • NuTek Customers include hotels, resorts, cruise lines, nursing homes, fitness facilities, and correctional institutions, all of whom enjoy ongoing operating cost savings and superior sanitation.
  • Many NuTek Customers have ‘green’ energy saving programs and are proud to add the benefits of their Ozone Laundry Support Systems to their successful, measured sustainability initiatives.

In May 2018, we started Sustainable Healthcare Solutions, LLC to focus efforts on protecting our vulnerable population of aging adults that enter Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers from cross contamination.

Ozone’s inherent properties render it as the planet’s #1 Disinfectant, and NuTek’s OLSS has been tested by an accredited microbial testing laboratory to assure that our technology and delivery of ozone into the linens processed, effectively and hygienically cleans, 99.99% of  the CDC’s top Super Bugs and other more commonly known bacteria and viruses.

Explain a pitfall you have experienced and lessons learned as a result?

Everyone subscribes to the notion of “going green” but it takes an active commitment to put this ideal into action:

  1. An open mind to do things differently in a laundry where the “old, tried and true” have been a mainstay for decades.
  2. It requires an investment, both financial and in training, to set a new laundry protocol in motion to save water, gas, electric and reduce the use of harsh chemicals.
  3. A commitment to ongoing maintenance by laundry and maintenance staff. Like any equipment that is mechanical and electrical in nature, it requires regular preventative maintenance.

What are the next steps for your business and how can the Florida 8(a) Alliance and/or other members help?

2019 presents a real opportunity for NuTek to capitalize on our association with Florida 8(a) as it relates to garnering new business opportunities across the State of Florida where our manufacturing location is located.

We have grown our sales throughout the US and abroad, but would like to focus on our home state, particularly as it relates to our new Sustainable Healthcare Solutions division, as our state is a retirement mecca for many, and presents for us, a unique opportunity to help many healthcare providers achieve both sustainability and improved disinfectant practices by introducing ozone into their OPL’s.

The members of Florida 8(a) that we’ve met thus far, have been encouraging and supportive.  We look forward to making new friendships and seeing capturing new business opportunities.  We look forward to participating in more of the Florida 8 (a) events and to building new relationships with its members.
