and Passive Injection Technology™, ensure that our OLSS units deliver safe and consistent ozone levels at the wash wheel.  We tailor each system to support the wash capacity of any laundry operation. Whether you have two 50-pound washers, multiple high-capacity washers or tunnel washers, we have an ozone solution for you.

Every OLSS model is fully automatic, flow controlled, oxygen supported, and non-invasive.  The only connection between your washers and our OLSS is your existing cold water line, which we divert through our injector assembly to ozonate the water then delivered directly to the wash wheel.  An ozone installation does not require special equipment, only that your washers be in good operating condition and are micro programmable to maximize the efficiency of the NuTek recommended wash formulas.

Each OLSS is designed to reduce hot water consumption, water usage through fewer, more effective wash cycles, and reduced drying times for all light to medium soiled linen.  Ozone replaces hot water as a “booster” to chemical reactions and naturally softens linens eliminating the need for softener.

Heavily soiled linens and reclaim will continue to require hot water and typically greater chemical dosages, but even these “challenging loads” can benefit from an all cold, final ozone rinse, to deliver 99.99% sanitized linen for the benefit of your customers, guests, passengers, residents or patients.

NuTek’s OLSS generates ozone from the ambient air and creates it using our patented system. Contaminants are removed from the air through a specially designed filtration system so that it is free of nitrogen before it enters our proprietary corona generator. The generator induces electricity which splits the O2 atom to create O3 or ozone, which can then be injected into the cold water supply.

Our Passive Injection Technology™ utilizes an on-demand system utilizing a vacuum created at the mixing valve to activate the OLSS each time the wash formula calls for cold water.   The colder the water, the more effective the ozone.  So when the washer calls for cold water, our OLSS springs into action and delivers ozone to the wash wheel.

When the ozone has fully reacted in the water, excess gas quickly decomposes and is absorbed safely into the atmosphere as oxygen. When the washer stops calling for cold water, the vacuum disappears and the system reverts to a standby mode.

Ozone opens the weave of the fabric so that together with chemicals and mechanical action, soils can be easily loosened and released from your linens. This not only results in cleaner, whiter, brighter linens, the open weave maintained by the cold water, allows for maximum extraction of all water and chemicals in the final extract leaving linen free of excess water. Sheets can go straight to the ironer; towels and all other linens can be dried at reduced drying times.

Most Importantly, ozone is the world’s most effective disinfectant, killing 99.99% of all commonly known bacteria. In January 2013, the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, issued a Revised Guidance Memorandum for laundry and infection control for long term healthcare facilities falling under Title 42 Public Health Code of Federal Regulations, Part 483.65. This memo addresses the requirements for processing hygienically clean laundry including the addition of ozone laundry cleaning systems. It states: “Ozone laundry cleaning systems are relatively new. The CMS, in collaboration with the CDC, has also determined that ozone cleaning systems are acceptable methods of processing laundry…”

NuTek’s OLSS effectively destroyed 99.99% of all microorganisms tested
NuTek continues to invest in 3rd party testing in support of our product claims; we don’t just borrow information from the internet. In our most recently updated Disinfection Test Results, our technology’s effectiveness against the most serious, antibiotic-resistant threats today was confirmed. Not all ozone laundry systems are the same, but NuTek’s premier OLSS is proven to fight contamination by killing bacteria and viruses that threaten human health.

The CDC lists these threats on its website – including the newest ‘Super Bug’, Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) and to that list we added, Clostridium difficile – spore form, aka C-Diff for our healthcare customers.  All microorganisms listed on the compiled report, pose a risk and include viruses and bacteria that can continue to live on surfaces and on textiles, even after washing.  Using our OLSS, ozone in the wash and rinse cycles, changes that outcome with a 99.99% kill rate in cold water. Ozone kills bacteria in much the same way as a chemical agent in that they both attack the cell wall.  Bacteria literally absorbs the ozonated water emitted into the wash wheel and then ozone ruptures the cell wall from the inside out, destroying the cell.  Once these cells are killed, they are suspended and then removed in the rinse cycle.
